ANDREW Dick and Melody Kaseke were crowned the 2026 Zimpost Mr Pace Half marathon champions at Alexandra Sports Club on Sunday.
The duo crossed the line in 1 hour 01 minute 46 seconds and 1 hr 15 mins 38s respectively.
Dick came home ahead of Godwin Kalakura who finished second in 1hr 02 mins 29 as Blessing Waison was third on 1hr 03 mins 52s.
Kaseke was followed by Caroline Mhandu who finished in 1hr 16 mins 09s while Fortunate Chidzivo managed a third place finish on 1hr 17 mins 17s.
The race was heavily subscribed as it got support from Zimpost, Gruma and Nicoz Diamond.
Dick believes the win is a good start and there will be more victories in the future.
“This is a great motivation and I look forward to continue working hard and improving my times.
“The race was tough as everyone wanted to win but I am grateful that I managed to push until the end,” said Dick.
The wheelchair 21km race was won by Samson Muroiwa in 1hr 15 mins 04s while Previous Wiri came home in second place in 1hr 15 mins 29s.
Crispen Mberewere was third in 1hr 57 mins 57s.
The women 21km wheelchair section race was won by veteran Margaret Bangajena in 1 hr 08 mins and she was followed by Molline Muza who crossed the line in 1 hr 12 mins 11s.
Gruma representative, Muvengwa Marumahoko said the event went on well and they are looking forward to next year.
”It was a great success and we are happy to partner Zimpost and Mr Pace among other partners,” said Marumahoko.
David Nyabadza, of Nicoz Diamond, praised the athletes and organisers.
