Katakura to miss Botswana International Cross Country

LONG-DISTANCE runner Godwin Katakura will miss the Botswana International Cross Country after he picked up an injury during training.
Katakura was hoping to use the event slated for Saturday in Modipane as part of his preparations for the World Athletics Cross Country Championships.
The World Cross Country is scheduled for January 10, 2026 in Tallahassee, Florida, United States.
But with an injury, Katakura is now looking at recovering ahead of the championships.
The event in Botswana is part of the World Athletics Cross Country Tour with a bronze status.
Winners in the Senior Men and Women 10km will receive $1 000.
Junior men and women 8km and 6km winners will get $500.
The event will also feature Youth Boys and Girls, competing in 6km and 4km respectively. There is a mixed relay 8km race on offer.
