THE Katonha Twins, Farai and Tendai, launched the South Africa Twins Organisation (SATO) in Durban.
The duo, who are the presidents of the Africa Twins Association (ATA), said the launch symbolised love and unity among African countries.
The twins acknowledged the support from the Zimbabwean and South African governments.
They highlighted the unique challenges faced by families with twins and multiple births.
The launch attracted a vibrant crowd, featuring around 65 sets of twins from Cape Town, Durban, Gauteng, and Pretoria.
The event was not merely a celebration but was described as a movement, showcasing the strength of the global twins’ community.
“What began as a simple call quickly transformed into an unforgettable collective experience,” the Katonha twins said.
Leading the South Africa Twins Organisation, Thandiwe and Thandeka Ndenza, expressed their commitment to fight for the rights and recognition of twins in Southern Africa.
The Katonha twins have travelled extensively across Africa, raising awareness of the challenges faced by the twins’ community, calling for better support systems in education and healthcare.
The launch was a vibrant testament to unity, identity, and shared experiences among twins, highlighting their collective strength and the importance of community support in overcoming adversity.
