Katsande dropped from Rooftop Promotion’s play

Promotion’s play titled “The Two Wives of John Mambo.”
This follows Tinopona’s two-day absent from the set at Theatre In The Park where the play is running until November 5.

In an interview, Tino admitted she was faced with personal problems insisting that she did not want to compromise the quality of the production.
“I will miss them (cast) but something personal came up and I wouldn’t want to compromise the quality of the production,” she was quoted as saying.

According to the producers of the play, Tino as she is popularly known in stage theatre, advised Rooftop Promotions, to recast her role as she was no longer able to fulfil her contractual obligations.
Dalma Chiwereva popularly known for her role in the locally produced movie, “Lobola”, replaced Tino in the star studded cast.

She assumes the role of Gladys, which was previously being performed by Evangelista Mwatse while the latter, takes over Tinopona’s role as Laiza, John Mambo’s second wife.
In a statement, Rooftop Promotions apologised to patrons saying they were confident that Dalma would fit in well.

“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our valued patrons who were turned away on Tuesday and Wednesday after the cancellation of both shows.

“We would like to assure them that the problem has been resolved and the play will resume its run on Friday (last week) and will finish on Novem- ber 5.
“Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted,” Rooftop Promotions said.
