A former Highlanders goalkeeper was recently appointed goal minders coach at ambitious Zifa Southern Region Division One side Zebra Revolution.

Zebra Revolution are in their maiden season in the Division One League and has had four rounds of play so far.

“We are happy that Archford Katsande is now part of us as the club’s goalkeepers coach. He brings with him wealthy experience after having played for a big club like Highlanders,” said Zebra Revolution director and head coach, Mkhokheli Dube.

Katsande said he is pleased to have been handed a chance to help groom goalkeepers at the club.

“It’s an opportunity that I could not resist. Zebra Revolution is a very good side that has players that are eager to learn and I think that will also push me to work even harder with the team’s goalkeepers,” said Katsande.

He joins a Zebra Revolution coaching department that has Dube and Mtewa Masiku.

In their previous league match, Zebra Revolution thumped Ajax Hotspurs 6-0 to take their points tally to seven, five behind seasoned pacesetters ZPC Hwange who are yet to taste defeat.

Zebra Revolution found their goals through Itai Matare (hattrick), Makanaka Nyamakope, Tinotenda Chitova and the sixth one was an own goal from an Ajax Hotspurs player.

ZPC Hwange are coming from an Eddie Nkulungo-inspired 1-0 win over league returnees Bulawayo City.

Second-placed Zimbabwe Saints beat Casymn 4-3. Chauya Chikwata are now on 10 points.

After edging Jordan Sinnot 1-0, Plumtree-based Mainline sits in position four with nine points.
