Kawara thrills patrons at Adrienne’s Restaurant

Fronting the youthful Shades of Black, Kawara and got it right on the vocals, sound quality and playlist while he also interacted well with the audience.

With drummer Lesley Gurumani, lead guitarist Tawanda Ndoro, bassist Edwin Matambira and Cornelius Muponda (keyboard) all on top of their game, the youthful Kawara and female backing vocalist Ndomupei Masendeke put the icing on the cake with euphonic lyrics. 
This was Kawara’s fist performance since clinching a deal with the upmarket eatery where he will be performing twice a month.

Kawara said he was happy with the support from the crowd and promised to raise the bar during the next show.
“It was our first time performing at this joint and we were very happy with the way things turned out. Apart from our usual fans, I noticed a number of white couples on the dance floor who were enjoying our music,” said Kawara.

Adrienne’s Restaurant owner Nicholas Mandeya expressed delight at the performance adding that he was looking forward to a strong partnership with Alexio’s camp.
“It was a very good show and we hope to enter into partnership with more artistes,” said Mandeya who normally hosts karaoke shows over the weekends.
Kawara, who has released five albums to date, had the opportunity to test the popularity of his upcoming album by belting out some of his new songs.

“The future looks promising and I hope to release a new album next year. I am, however, still to come up with a name for the album but we are working on it,” said Kawara.
He said he was looking at doing more live shows to boost his earnings since music-ians were suffering because of piracy.
