Musician Kay_Kid Umfanosmotho has rallied support for Zifa Matabeleland South Division 2 log leaders, Super Strikers, by producing an EP that celebrates the soccer team.

Titled “Ushuni Weyoyoyo”, the EP features Fly aka Ibutho lakoNyathi and was produced by Jaydee The Poet. It consists of four songs: “Iyodwa” (Intro song), “Wena Weyoyoyo”, “Vuma ngyoyilanda”, and “Enkundlen” (Ephelandaba). The first two tracks have already been released, with the remaining two scheduled for release soon, including “Enkundlen”, which will be accompanied by visuals.

Kay_Kid Umfanosmotho shared that the songs were inspired by Freddy Gwala, particularly after listening to the track “Amahlolanyama”. He emphasised the role of creatives in intertwining sports, arts, and culture.

“It was both exciting and challenging to write these songs, being a fan of the team myself. The team’s current top position on the log is a testament to their hard work, and this EP aims to boost morale further.

“I appreciate the fantastic support from fans in the terraces, and a special shout-out to Amagibogibo for leading the fans’ side and also releasing a banger for the team titled “Super yoyoyo” featuring Amankulusi, Zhezhingtons, and Zagoe RADGE, produced by DJ Drumz,” said Kay_Kid Umfanosmotho.

He also extended gratitude to the team management, including Bucie Mangena, Dubsii Mponeng, and Kile, for the opportunity to work on these songs, which marked his first venture into soccer-themed music.

Super Strikers currently lead the log with 13 points from five games, followed closely by Mawabeni and Gwanda Pirates tied on 10 points after the same number of matches.
