will be guiding the Zambians in the Champions League having won the local league last season.
“I get heartbroken when I hear that there are problems at Dynamos,” said Mumba.
“I hope they have sorted out the player crisis and I wish them well in the Champions League.
“I coached that team with a passion. They have done a lot for Zimbabwean football by getting two slots in the Champion League.
“It is high time they must emulate TP Mazembe and win the Champions League because they are the greatest team in Zimbabwe.”
He hailed coach Callisto Pasuwa for what he has achieved at the Glamour Boys.
“I am very happy for Pasuwa. I coached him at Dynamos and, to be honest, I am thrilled,” said Mumba.
“I wish Desmond (Maringwa) can also be drafted in the coaching structures as well or even being given a role to coach the juniors.
“You can’t tell who will be the champion here in Zambia but in Zimbabwe there are only two big clubs, Dynamos and Highlanders, who can easily lift the title.”
Mumba also talked about the politics at DeMbare.
“Politics will never end at that team because it is a unique club with a large following. Everyone wants to be associated with Dynamos,” he said.
Mumba played for Black Rhinos from 1983 to 1985 alongside the likes of Hamid Dhana, Maronga Nyangela and Stanley ”Sinyo” Ndunduma under the guidance of Shepard Murape.
He later took charge of Dynamos in the 2003 and 2004 season.
Mumba has said he still follows Zimbabwean football.
“Zimbabwe is my second home and I love their football. I still dream of coming back there and I am working hard to have exchange programmes especially with clubs there.
‘It will be good to see Pasuwa and other coaches coming here for attachment at Zanaco and the Zambian coaches doing the same.” he said.
