Khaya Arts, who recently won two awards at the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama), has postponed their celebratory gig originally scheduled for March 14. The event will now take place on March 21 at Tshabalala Hall, starting at 1:30pm.

Khaya Arts’ production, UniAfrican won the Outstanding Dance Group/Production award, while the group’s founder and director, Future Dube, was honoured as the Outstanding Choreographer.

The postponement comes as the “city fathers” – including local officials – are unavailable due to a workshop. Dube shared that the event will be graced by Mayor David Coltart as the guest of honour, with Carlos and Umahlabayithwale as the event’s emcees. The director promises a well-planned and unique celebration that has never been done before.
“This is an important event for us to showcase our success and bring the community together. We’re looking forward to an unforgettable celebration,” said Dube.
