Zanu-PF national chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo has lambasted and branded as “selfish” individuals fuelling factionalism to destroy the party.Cde Khaya Moyo said this in his opening remarks on Wednesday night at a dinner in Harare to fund raise for the party’s annual National People’s Conference set for next week in Chinhoyi.

He said Zanu-PF should never depart from the Unity Accord and those individuals who believed they could make the party do so were misled.

“So, we are determined, we have said it several times that this is a party of the people for the people,” said Cde Khaya   Moyo.
“So, do not harbour your own personal ambitions and think you can disturb the unity and peace prevailing in this revolutionary party.

“Those of you who have been cherishing impositions, those of you who have been cherishing corruption, those of you who have been cherishing factionalism, revise your thoughts because we are not going to allow this party to be disturbed by selfish individuals.”

Cde Khaya Moyo said preparations for the conference were on course and urged Harare province to do all its best to fund raise and make the annual congress a success.

Chairman of the fund raising committee Cde Noah Mangondo said the committee would soon announce the funds raised after collating them.

The conference set for next week will start with a Politburo meeting on December 11 and Central Committee the following day before delegates travel to Chinhoyi where they will participate in a clean up campaign and tree planting.

President Mugabe is expected to officially open the conference on December 13
