‘Killed for not buying beer’

A Dzivaresekwa man has been arrested for reportedly stabbing his friend to death after he had demanded the reasons why the victim was no longer buying him beer.

The incident occurred on November 26.

Police confirmed in statement:

“Police in Harare have arrested Tapiwa Nyahumbane (23) in connection with a case of murder which occurred on November 26 at around 11pm at the intersection of 7th and 4th Street, Dzivaresekwa.

“The victim, Clayton Nyamupenzi (25) died after being stabbed with a kitchen knife on the chest and palms following a scuffle.

“The suspect had demanded to know the reason why the victim was no longer buying him beer.”

Meanwhile, police in Harare are appealing for information which may assist to identify the body of an unknown male adult who was found dead in the drain along Sande Crescent, Graniteside on November 27.

The victim was found with multiple injuries all over the body.
