ZIMDANCEHALL musician Kelvin Kusikwenyu, popularly known as Killer T, has been arrested in Harare over allegations that he sent threatening WhatsApp messages to the family of Malcolm Takudzwa Muzavazi, who died after being attacked by four dogs in Southerton.
Killer T was taken to Mabelreign Police Station for questioning and further investigations following a report made by the complainant.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the arrest.
“I am still checking the details of the case,” said Insp Chakanza.
Police are expected to release a statement soon on the matter.
The musician’s arrest comes as police continue investigating the fatal dog attack that claimed the life of Muzavazi (39) in Southerton.
Three suspects — car sale co-owners Gilbert Rumbwere (44) and Itai Tamirepi (43), as well as security guard Mannex Svova (21) — have already been arrested in connection with the incident.
Rumbwere had initially gone into hiding following the attack before he was later apprehended by police.
According to police, the dogs involved in the attack comprised one Belgian Malinois and three Belgian Malinois-German Shepherd crossbreeds.
The animals were reportedly under the care of a private security guard, who released them from their kennels for feeding at around 6pm on the day of the incident.
Last week, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Muzavazi was attacked by the four dogs along a footpath near a car sale in Southerton.
The two car sale co-owners and the security guard were subsequently arrested.
Comm Nyathi reiterated that dog owners have a legal obligation to ensure that their animals are properly secured and controlled at all times to prevent attacks on the public.
He said dogs must be confined within premises and should only be allowed in public places when under the effective control of a responsible person or restrained on a leash.
