King Henry for Arsenal

LONDON. – Arsene Wenger has confirmed Thierry Henry will be returning to Arsenal. The France striker has left the New York Bulls and is expected to begin a new career in coaching.

Wenger confirmed the door was wide open for the 37-year-old to return to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners boss was convinced it would happen but could not say exactly when.

He said: “He is an Arsenal man. The best moments certainly of his life and of his career have been experienced here. Certainly one day he will come back here. In what role I don’t know, that’s what he has to think about – what direction he wants to give to his next life. He has all the qualities because he is intelligent, committed and he loves the game. He just has to think ‘do I want to sacrifice all the rest of my life to be involved in that job?’”

Wenger ruled out a playing role for the man who has already come back once from America for a close-season loan stint.

He said: “He has given a lot, he has come out with an image that is fantastic. I’m not sure that he wants to play again in the (English) Premier League.”

Wenger’s most pressing concern is to see off Southampton at the Emirates tonight. The Gunners boss is hoping one of his left-backs will be passed fit to play, with both Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal both struggling. – The Daily Express.
