CONFUSED statistics?
For years it has been believed that Peter a?Nsukuzonkea? Ndlovu played a hundred times for the Zimbabwe Warriors but now there is a claim he could have played 102 times.
Three years back it was corrected that Ndlovu is not the most capped player in Warriors colours. In fact itas John Phirias with 107 caps between 1989-1997.
Therefore, Ndlovuas percentile strike rate is lower than the initial 38 percent if the figures are to be taken into account.
a?The 2017 Soccer Stars banquet managed to bring a legend Peter Ndlovu back home. He is a man that did well for the country and he boasts of 102 senior national team caps,a? said Delta Beverages marketing director Maxen Karombo at the 2017 Soccer Stars of the Year banquet where Ndlovu was the guest of honour last week in Harare.
However, Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela did not confirm the new figure but admitted that Zifa records were in disarray.
a?We will need to verify facts and I will get back to you. Our records with regards to playersa national team caps are wanting,a? he said.
Ndlovu could not be drawn to comment about the new revelation. Interestingly there is a time when Ndlovu played a couple of games for the national team wearing jersey number 100- signaling that he had reached the feat.
