The sky is the limit for Kasi Lami Arts Platform (Klap) who recently collaborated with one of South Africa’s best rappers, Ifani Hayimani (real name Mzayifani Mzondeleli Boltina) on a single titled Show and Prove.

Klap producer Polite Sibanda popularly known as P2daoh said they had featured the Ewe hit-maker on their forthcoming album Hip Hop Mosaic because they had something in common.

“We decided to work with Ifani because we’ve a common goal. He’s already a force to reckon with in the music industry and he’s pushing hard to achieve greater things just like we’re doing here,” P2daoh said.

He said they expected to shoot a video on the single they produced with the Xhosa rapper early next year.

“We’re hoping to shoot the video next year with locations in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

“We’ll also use this opportunity to shoot a video for another track, Things Are Falling Apart which features another South African, Phil D,” he said.

Ifani, who is often described as the comedian of South African rap, had a breakthrough in the music industry in 2008 after years of struggling.

The Eastern Cape born musician is known for his witty, somewhat cheeky and outrageous lyrics.

The artiste who only raps in his mother tongue Xhosa, released Ewe, which made waves in the South African music industry in 2011. Hype Magazine listed him as number one on their Top Unsigned Hype List in 2009, Club 808 selected him as their first Boxfresh artiste in 2011 and the South African Hip Hop Awards named him as their Best Freshman in 2012.

This year he received a South African Music Award in the best hip hop album category for his debut offering beating the likes of L-Tido and Kwesta.

Klap have been nominated for various local awards but have never won any. The 11-member group is made up of Bekithemba Sibanda aka Thorne, Dalvin Makhalisa aka 2dope, Thamsanqa Siziba aka Fresh T, king of kwaito Pozee real name Mbekezeli Mpofu, Gcinekile Ndlovu aka Lady Thug, Gugu Ndimbali aka LilG, Pullen aka Alaina, Emmanuel Dube aka Zing, Mthokozisi Mathema aka Elbreezy, Polite Tichivangana aka P2daoah and Conrad Phiri aka El Monda.
