RICKY HATTON’S fighting family will be out in force for him on April 11.
The two-weight world champion had been scheduled to come out of retirement and headline the show this weekend in Dubai.
The date was rearranged and Sheffield’s former welterweight king Kell Brook has stepped in to face Eisa Al Dah and now the Hatton clan will pack the undercard. Son Campbell, 25, has confirmed he will be fighting at the event and his cousins, Jack and Lola – the children of Ricky’s brother Matthew – will also have bouts.
Campbell, who retired in July 2025, said: “Looking forward to getting back in the ring in memory of my dad out in Dubai.”
Lola Hatton posted: “Buzzing to say I’m fighting on the Kell Brook undercard over in Dubai, representing team Manchester and the Ricky Hatton foundation.”
Jack Hatton wrote: “Big opportunity for me, I will be fighting on the undercard of Kell Brook versus Eisa Aldah in Dubai.
“It will be a great experience, ready to show them what I can do on a big night.”
Campbell retired from boxing in 2024 after suffering back-to-back losses to James Flint.
Jack is a promising amateur and two-time national champion and his sister Lola trains alongside him at dad Matthew’s gym.
Campbell was devastated by the loss of his dad, who he felt was in a good mental health space, after years of suffering. Following the emotional funeral, he explained: “He was dead busy with stuff in the gym. He had loads he was looking forward to.
“When he was really in his dark place, it would’ve been just as heartbreaking, but it wouldn’t have been as much of a shock.
“It was great to see all the people at the funeral showing their support.
“But I’m glad it’s out of the way now so we can start, as a family, trying to — we’ll never get over it – but start healing.” — Sun
