Kombi crew jailed

mounting commonly known as “paKadoma”.
Eagan Madamombe, Shane Chidede and Innocent Afa appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Sandra Mupi-ndu who convicted them because of overwhelming evidence.

Ms Mupindu sentenced them to 18 months imprisonment of which six months were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
In passing sentence, Ms Mupindu castigated the behaviour of the kombi crew for assaulting innocent passengers who had not provoked them.

The complainants in the case were Paul Pfumandiwe and Mabasa Mbayo who are employed by the Zimbabwe Prison Services.
Prosecutor Mr Moffat Makuvatsine proved that October 8 this year, the two boarded a Kombi from the city centre going to Mabvuku where they were supposed to disembark at Red Bull Bus Stop. Along the way, the Kombi diverted the route and upon reaching Hunters Bus Stop the two complainants told the kombi crew that they intended to go the other way.
