Kombi driver ploughs into mother and child (5), flees

POLICE have launched a manhunt for a motorist driving a Silver Kombi marked BCT who fled after hitting a five year-old boy along with his mother.

In a statement, Police said the incident occurred on 12 April 2024 along Mqamulazwe Road near Nketa 6 Garage, Bulawayo.

The victims are receiving treatment at Mpilo Central Hospital after they sustained some injuries.

“Police in Nkulumane are investigating a serious hit and run road traffic accident which occurred along Mqamulazwe Road near Nketa 6 Garage, Bulawayo on 12/04/24 at around 1955 hours.

“A Silver Kombi marked BCT, with an unknown vehicle registration number,veered off the road and hit a five year old male juvenile and his mother who were standing at the edge of the road.

“The driver did not stop after the accident. The two victims sustained some injuries and were taken to Mpilo Hospital for treatment. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” reads the statement.
