Krog among favourites in Eswatini

ZIMBABWEAN professional golfer Stuart Krog is among the favourites at the ongoing FNB Eswatini Nkonyeni Challenge in Eswatini.

Krog managed to complement his opening first round of five-under-par with a one under 71 to take his total to six-under.

The former top Zimbabwe junior who after spending a number of years playing collegiate golf in the US at Henderson State University where he was studying for a Sports Management degree, Krog decided to turn professional in 2021 after his studies for a Master’s degree were cut short by the Covid-19 outbreak.

For his outing yesterday Krog is on position five and is tied with veteran Jean Hugo.

The Zimbabwean is trailing leader Mathew Spacey who continued with his fine performances as he followed his opening round of ten-under by two-under for a total 12-under.

Another Zimbabwean Robson Chinhoi failed to make the cut after he followed his opening round of two-under with a four-over.

The projected cut was pegged at one-over-par. The last round of the tournament closes in today.
