Kumpasa raps players

Sports Reporter
MATABELELAND Warriors coach Reuben Kumpasa took a swipe at his players for their 15-47 National Rugby League semi-final defeat to Old Hararians at the weekend. The former national team player said he was disappointed with their third loss of the season as his players failed to stamp their authority. Kumpasa said his players lost the game plan as they focused on individual play.
“Actually I am very disappointed because the players didn’t show any intentions of winning that game. We spent the first 25 minutes of the game at Old Hararians’ 22 but still didn’t score. We just gave up and didn’t fight.

“It’s like the guys wanted to impress the scouts that were there instead of playing as a team. What they did is very disturbing because if we are to win, it’s about team work not individualism,” said Kumpasa.

He said he had a full-strength squad including South African based duo of last season’s best Forward player Biselele Tshamala and Royal Mwale.

Sanele “Smiley” Sibanda and Witness Botha could not make it due to pressing commitments.
