The City of Kadoma will descend heavily on illegal billboards and signages mushrooming around its environs.

In a public notice titled “Billboards and Signages in City of Kadoma”, town clerk Mr Malvin Dondo said council would take drastic action over any illegal billboards, posters and signages erected without following laid down regulations.

“Council has noticed with great concern the rampant mushrooming of illegal billboards, directional signages and posters on council property, road verges, intersections and shop pavements. This has negatively impacted on the safety and visual appearance of the city for the benefit and enjoyment of motorists, residents and visitors,” reads the notice.

The town clerk warned residents that council by-laws and regulations exist to enforce council resolution.

“According to City of Kadoma (Control of Advertising Signs), By-Laws, subsection 1(f) of section 22 (5) of the Regional Town and Country Planning Act (Chapter 29:12), it is illegal to erect billboards, directional signs, posters or any structure within the City of Kadoma area of jurisdiction without a valid permit and approved plans.”
