MIGHTY Warriors coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda has named a team, which contains a fair share of experienced campaigners, for the first leg of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Angola.

The Mighty Warriors, who have been in camp since last week, are expected to play the first leg tie against Angola on February 20.

The return leg is scheduled for Pretoria, South Africa, on February 26.

The Mighty Mighty Warriors are scheduled to leave for Angola on Monday.

In naming her charges, Sibanda looks like she opted mainly for experience with some seasoned veterans like Rutendo Makore and United States-born Ruvimbo Mucherera making the cut.

Also included in the team is Australia-based forward Yolanda Kanyai and midfielder Emmaculate Msipa, who has been with the team for a while, and will bring a wealth of experience.

Msipa plies her trade in Israel where she won the 2023 Women’s State Cup with Ironi Ramat HaSharon.

She had a successful stint with Turkish Women’s Super League club Fatih Karagümrük.

Striker Rutendo Makore returns to the fold after a long absence.

She suffered a career-threatening injury that saw her sidelined for close to two seasons.

Mighty Warriors Squad:

Goalkeepers Vanessa Lunga, Precious Mudyiwa, Lindiwe Magwede.

Defenders Egness Tumbare, Sheila Antonio, Purity Mugayi, Nobukhosi Ncube, Alice Moyo, Fortunate Ngocho.

Midfielders Daisy Kaitano, Morelife Nyagumbo, Ennetty Chemhere, Natasha Ndowa, Danai Bhobho, Emmaculate Msipa, Mavis Chirandu, Shyline Dambamuromo.

Strikers Christabel Katona, Rutendo Makore, Ethel Chinyerere, Yolanda Kanyai, Ruvimbo Mucherera
