The event is the biggest tournament in women’s golf on the local calendar and will see the golfers battling it out to be crowned the 2013 Zimbabwe champions.
Last year the championship attracted a big field of local and foreign female golfers with a cosmopolitan line-up of 96 golfers from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Uganda.
The players will be divided into four divisions based on their handicap with hosts Zimbabwe expected to provide the largest number of entries at the championship.
Zambia’s Mellisa Nawa is the defending champion in the event that will also feature players from Zambia and Tanzania.
Nawa was given a good run for her money last year by Kenya Open champion Batsirai Tilowakuti at Chapman.
The Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union public relations officer, Evelyn Maisvoreva, said all is now in place for the country’s biggest women’s golf tournament.
“All is now in place for the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Open strokeplay. The championship and A Divisions will take place tomorrow while the B and C Division players will tee off at the weekend.
“We are expecting some foreigners in Zambians Mono Mwila and Lona Mwenda while Angel Eton of Tanzania also confirmed her participation,” Maisvoreva said.
Meanwhile, Warren Hills will next week host the Champions of Champions golf day.
