THE much-awaited Ladies on Wheels event begins in Harare today with women from all walks of life expected to attend the function that seeks to impart knowledge on basic vehicle maintenance.

Organised by Zimpapers through its weekly publication, The Sunday Mail in partnership with Amtec Motors, one of the leading automotive companies in the country, is taking place at the automotive company’s branch located at the corner of Robert Mugabe Road and Simon Muzenda Street (formerly 4th Street).

Supporting sponsors are Classic Motors and Cardence Investments.

Amtec Motors sales manager Mr Beloved Chisoni expressed excitement about hosting the event.

“We are inviting you on the 15th of November 2025 where we’ll be hosting in collaboration with Zimpapers, an event called Ladies on Wheels.

“This event is not only for ladies, you can bring your husband, partner or a friend and anybody who holds a car, we’ll be educating you on basic vehicle maintenance and checks that you need to do as a vehicle owner.

Zimpapers spokesperson Mrs Pauline Matanda is on record saying the event seeks to inspire the next generation of women.

“Ladies on Wheels is not just about women driving cars — it’s about women driving progress.

“At Zimpapers, we believe in celebrating the modern woman who balances her dreams, her responsibilities, and her ambitions, all while moving confidently forward,” she said.

It is hoped that participants will engage in practical demonstrations covering basic vehicle challenges, including jump-starting, pressure filling, and engine checks.

Interactive sessions on car maintenance, road safety, and wellness are also on the agenda, designed to help women navigate both the figurative and literal roads of life.

“This event is a reminder that every woman is on a journey, whether she’s behind the wheel of a car, a company, or her own destiny. Zimpapers will continue to create platforms that fuel those journeys with inspiration and opportunity,” said Mrs Matanda.
