LADY Chevrons will set up camp in Bulawayo today ahead of their three-match one-day international series against Bangladesh at Queens Sports Club.
The three ODIs will be played on November 10, 12 and 15 November.
Eighteen ladies are in the Zimbabwe squad for this series, but it will be trimmed to 15 for the Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, which starts on November 21 in Harare.
Batter Sharne Mayers, who plays for Imperial Lions in South Africa, is part of the squad and is expected to provide stability to the Lady Chevrons’ batting order.
Australian-based Anesu Mushangwe is still not available due to documentation issues.
The Lady Chevrons recently underlined their status as a dominant force in women’s cricket in Africa outside South Africa after booking their ticket for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier by winning a regional tournament in Botswana.
Zimbabwe were outstanding throughout the continental qualifiers, easily winning all their seven matches en route to the title.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers are set for next year.
The top two teams in the eight-nation qualifier will compete in the World Cup finals to be held in South Africa in 2023.
