THE Lady Chevrons return to Harare Sports Club tomorrow with a chance for an historic win the three match ODI series.
Their battle against the West Indies will be determined by the final match after the Lady Chevrons shocked the cricket world with victory in the second match on Sunday.
Nyasha Gwanzura led an inspired bowling display with a career-best four for 33 as the visitors were dismissed for 139 in 39.3 overs.
Zimbabwe reached 140 for six with 55 balls to spare, bouncing back from Thursday’s 99-run defeat to level the three-match One-Day International series at one apiece.
Zimbabwe tore through the Windies middle order and the visitors slumped to 63 for four.
It kept going worse for the visitors and from 56 for one, the Windies crumbled to 88 for seven in the 24th over. Ashmini Munisar, who finished unbeaten on 20, and Karishma Ramharack added 26 for the last wicket. West Indies hit back sharply.
Alleyne trapped Mupachikwa lbw at the end of the 17th over, Munisar dismissed Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano for a duck and Alleyne removed Ndhlovu for 30.
Zimbabwe had slipped from 67 without loss to 70 for three.But the Lady Chevrons refused to bullied and Gwanzura finished unbeaten on 18, completing a match she had shaped with the ball.
It was only Zimbabwe Women’s second ODI victory over a Full Member side.
In the end, they won by four wickets, with 55 balls to spare, to force a decider tomorrow.
The Chevrons had been beaten by 99 runs in the opening ODI courtesy of Hayley Matthews’ record-breaking 182.
