Lady Enereta International High School is celebrating its fifth anniversary in style by working towards establishing a primary boarding school, expanding its presence in the education sector.
Come 2025, Lady Enereta will be marking a significant milestone, celebrating five years of growth, resilience, and academic excellence. The school, located approximately 111 kilometres from Harare, opened its doors in 2020 with just 100 students.
Speaking at the annual prize-giving day on September 27, chair of the Board of Directors, Mr Lanny Diamond said, “despite facing insurmountable challenges, Lady Enereta has grown significantly and we are planning to open a primary boarding school in 2026”
Opened during the global Covid-19 pandemic with only 100 students, Lady Enereta has grown in leaps and bounds despite challenges.
Navigating the pandemic, the students and teachers embraced new technologies, adapting to online learning platforms without losing focus on academic goals.
The school has remained steadfast in its mission to provide top-tier education while nurturing holistic developments grounded in Christian values.
Despite being a new school in terms of existence, Lady Enereta has overcome several challenges and is optimistic about a brighter future.
Lady Enereta, offering Cambridge curriculum offers a vibrant and structured learning environment where the school students immerse themselves in academic and extracurricular activities.

Lady Enereta International High School is owned by the Oliver Mutyambizi Family Trust.

The school is run by a Board of Governors led by Mr Diamond, a chartered accountant.
Mr Diamond said the school remains deeply committed to its mission of excellence. The board provides strategic oversight and governance, ensuring that the institution remains on a path of continuous improvement.
Enrolment
The teacher-student ratio at Lady Enereta over the past five years is 1:23.
“This allows for personalised attention and a strong focus on student development,” said Mr Diamond.
“This balanced ratio ensures that each student receives the guidance and support needed to excel academically as well as in sports and other extracurricular activities.”

Lady Enereta takes pride in teaching staff, considered as one of its most priced assets. The school has a team of highly qualified educators, including professors, lecturers, authors, and industry experts.
According to the principal, Mr Andrew Nyamhere, this diverse and knowledgeable faculty brings real-world insights into the classroom, “Enriching the learning experience for the students while preparing them for future challenges across various fields.”

The school has state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology to support its academic ambitions.
All students have access to Wi-Fi connections, ensuring that technology is fully integrated into their education.
Located close to the highway, the school offers easy access for parents, staff, and visitors. The school has a well-trained security system in place, guaranteeing the safety of all students.
Solar backup is guaranteed in the event of power outage to ensure a continuous and comfortable learning environment.

Mr Nyamhere said the commitment to providing the best environment for students was evident in the ongoing infrastructural projects.
“From expanding the classrooms to installing advanced ICT facilities, the school is determined to create a learning space that encourages innovation and exploration,” he said.

Achievements
Sheer determination catapulted Lady Enereta to remarkable achievements.
The director of studies, Mr Michael Mhlanga, outlined the academic achievements so far. He highlighted that, despite Covid-19 setbacks, the first A Level exams were in 2021, and by 2022, the school achieved a commendable 70 percent pass rate in the IGCSE exam.
“A year later, the school hit a new benchmark, boasting an 85 percent pass rate in the 2023 IGCSE exams. The school offers the internationally renowned Cambridge curriculum,” said Mr Mhlanga.
Excelling beyond the classroom
Mr Mhlanga referred to how the Lower 6 students scooped the first prize at the National Business Case Provincial Competition.
The competition is run by Emergination Africa in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
The competitions were held at Prince Edward School.
“This victory is just one example of students’ intellectual prowess and their ability to apply critical thinking in real-world situations,” said Mr Mhlanga.
Additionally, Lady Enereta takes pride in nurturing exceptional public speakers, debaters, and quiz masters who have consistently excelled in various competitions.
It is the Principal, Mr Nyamhere’s vision that the school achieves its commitment to fostering all-rounded individuals, as is being further reflected in offering both modern and traditional sports.
This ensures that every student finds an outlet for their talents and passions.
The principal promised stakeholders that the school would take their students, whom he affectionately called Jewels, to unimaginable heights.
In 2023, Lady Enereta took part in the Jan Robertson Hockey Tournaments, competing against schools such as St Georges, St Johns, Chisipite, Arundel, Hellenics and Nattie among many others.
The school reached the semi-finals of this prestigious school hockey competition. This year, the tennis team went all the way to the national finals held at Chinhoyi High representing Mashonaland Central.
This follows the Lady Enereta’s triumph in the regional tournament.
Again, the team scooped a silver medal.

Turning to cricket, the team has been making waves competing against giants in the sport.
Four cricket players from Lady Enereta represent Mashonaland Central at the National Championship.
The team’s captain, Keith Senzere, a Lady Enereta prodigy, is one of the beneficiaries of the sports scholarship, among many other scholarships on offer.
Senzere was invited for trials with one of the top cricket teams in the country.
In public speaking, Lady Enereta won the 2023 national High Schools Debate Challenge public speaking and poetry competitions held at Mt Pleasant High.
The French students sang their hearts out and outperformed their counterparts from schools, including Harare International School, Chisipite, Heritage, the French School, and Watershed.
Lady Enereta’s quiz team will be flying to Gaborone, Botswana, to represent Zimbabwe after participating in the National School Quiz Championship (NSQC) Quiz Competition held at Starfm studios recently.
The school is constructing an International Standard Swimming Pool while a rugby pitch is complete and only waiting for the rains for its turf.
