Inspired by the late socialite Genius Kadungure aka Ginimbi, amapiano muso Mzoe 7 has penned a song titled Ginimbi.
The song that was released last week is poised to be a banger at nightclubs where Ginimbi was adored by many.
The visuals that were released alongside the single feature model Ben Chest, Umcimbi ka Fofo, Ruth Ncube, Thandy and Subharu the dancer. Klobber Fusion was in charge of the wardrobe.
Detailing the song, Mzoe 7 said it was inspired by Ginimbi who happened to be the musician’s role model.
“I’m young, I hustle, push my grind and I’m determined in all I do. I’m inspired by people and situations around me and drew a lot of inspiration from the late Genius. Through the track, I felt I really needed to give people something to dance to and I feel that this is the best sound and song for the festive season.”
Mzoe 7 said the song talks about a well groomed man who is spending what he has worked for and appreciating the circle of friends he has.
“I realised that the people around me make me a better person. They inspire and help me see my potential. This is why I decided to celebrate them too through this song,” said Mzoe 7.
The video was filmed in parts of Tshabalala and also Nketa at the newly established Balcony area.
“I wanted the video to have that feel of ikasi and the people around us as we’re proud of where we come from. I’ll soon be embarking on a tour around the city and the country to promote the single.
I’m loving the support that people have been giving us already,” said Mzoe 7 who was spotted with socialite Passion Java this past weekend.
He went on to pay homage to Rasquesity of Keaitse Films who he said was a marvel to work with.
“I also featured Lance Hebron and Dagger Beats on the production. Shekina who is one young talented man that I’ve always enjoyed working with did his magic on the guitar,” he said. – @mthabisi_mthire
