CABINET has approved principles of the National Competitiveness Bill and the draft document for the legislation is set to be presented to the attorney general’s office next week, Industry and Commerce minister Mike Bimha has said.

In his opening remarks at the ZNCC annual congress in Victoria Falls, Minister Bimha said several initiatives were underway to improve the competitiveness of local producers, retailers and the general economy.

“My ministry has completed stakeholders consultations on a Bill to establish the National Competitive Commission and it will be forwarded to the AG’s office. The bill will be tabled in Parliament at the next sitting,” said Minister Bimha.
