MANUFACTURING companies from Europe and Asia are expected to explore Zimbabwean investment opportunities at the International Investment Forum organised by the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI).

Investors from Italy, South Korea, Indonesia, India and Turkey are expected to take part in the International Investment Forum that has been slated for September.

CZI chief executive officer Mr Clifford Sileya said the two-day business forum will afford Zimbabwean companies an opportunity to endear themselves with international investors who might have business interests in the country.

“CZI will be holding its 2018 Congress and International Investment Forum from 26-28 September 2018 in Bulawayo. The congress will run under the theme ‘From Dialogue to Implementation – Its Time to Act!’

“As in 2017, congress will again, have an international flavour – we expect international delegates. This year we have approached Italy, South Korea, and Indonesia, in addition to India and Turkey who came last year. There will also be a business-to-business session, where views on selected economic sectors maybe exchanged among delegates,” he said.

Mr Sileya said CZI deliberately delayed congress until after the forthcoming harmonised elections that are likely to be held in July.

“We will definitely invite the new Ministers charged with developing and growing our economy and also an approach will be made to the State President for a session at congress. As said earlier, this is preliminary information to assist companies in planning.

As is the norm, members of CZI are strongly urged to exhibit their products and wares during the congress. Exhibition is free but companies construct their own stalls, at their own cost,” he said.

CZI International Investment forum resonates well with the Government call that Zimbabwe was now open for business.
