ZIMBABWEAN winger and former Chicken Inn and Highlanders player Kudakwashe Mahachi will remain with Mamelodi Sundowns this season after French giants Monaco told his South African side that he was good but too expensive for them.

Mahachi impressed on a recent trial with Radamel Falcao’s employers but the clubs could not agree on a transfer fee, a well-placed source told kickoff.

It is claimed that Sundown’s valuation of the player was not what Monaco expected for a player they believe still needed to be polished to become complete player.

“The boy did well and Monaco was very impressed during his trials. However, both teams could not agree on terms regarding the transfer fee,” says the source.

Mahachi is back at Chloorkop in South Africa as he seeks to win the favour of Coach Pitso Mosimane.

He has been handed jersey number 43 and was on the bench last night as Sundowns lost 1-0 to Ajax Cape Town.

The 20-year-old signed with the Absa PSL champions during the January transfer window, but spent the first half of the Castle Lager Premier League on loan at Highlanders back home.
