LATEST: Tomana suspended

Prosecutor-General, Mr Johannes Tomana has been suspended to allow for a Tribunal appointed by President Mugabe to look into the issues raised by the Judicial Service Commission with the President.

Meanwhile, President Mugabe has sworn in lawyer Mr Ray Goba as the acting Prosecutor-General. The President also swore in a three-member tribunal to look into the issues concerning Mr Tomana.The Tribunal will be chaired by Retired Judge Moses Chinhengo and the other members are Emmanuel Magade and Elinah Machiya.

Also sworn in were commissioners of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, the Zimbabwe Land Commission, the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission and the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission.
