Two primary school pupils perished in an accident this morning after a vehicle their father was driving rammed a tree after being hit by another which had not stopped at a traffic intersection.
The two minors, whose names were withheld because their next of kin had  not been informed, died on the spot after their father’s Mercedes Benz 320 CDI rammed a tree that had a hollow containing bees at the corner of Golden Stairs and Dorset Roads.

The bees then attacked the driver and his 15 year old son who fled the scene in shock with a swarm of bees in hot pursuit before being  apprehended by onlookers.

According to eyewitnesses the driver of the BMW did not stop at a Give Way sign and hit the Mercedes Benz at the back.
The vehicle swerved on the road and went to hit the tree.

“We rushed to assist but the man who was driving the Mercedes Benz was crawling in the middle of the road with bees covering his face. We stood for a few minutes because bees were stinging anyone who was nearby.

“People from neighbouring houses had to rush with fire extinguishers and sprayed them,” Mr Tapiwa Mademo said.
