President Mugabe arrived here last night to witness a peace signing ceremony between President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita’s government and Tuareg separatist rebels.

The African Union and Sadc Chair was received at Senou International Airport by President Keita, Prime Minister Modibo Keita and several Malian Cabinet ministers.

Cde Mugabe, who is travelling with Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi and senior Government officials, inspected a Guard of Honor and then headed straight into a briefing with his counterpart.

The signing ceremony is scheduled for this afternoon, and will mark the first major peace deal President Mugabe will have overseen since assuming AU chairmanship.
