Laziness: Youth Focus with Dr Manners Msongelwa

For the Learners

This is an action  of being unwilling to work or use energy It also means idleness.

Laziness leads to missed deadlines and a constant sense of playing catch-up. Procrastination becomes a habit, resulting in a cycle of increased stress and decreased efficiency.

When individuals succumb to laziness, they miss out on opportunities for learning, skill development and reaching their full potential.

It hinders progress and keeps individuals stuck in a state of mediocrity .lt leads to poverty.

Some students don’t want to write or copy notes from the board. They don’t bother about the learning process, they are just lazy to write notes.

Some don’t write corrections or even cover their books. Corrections are given by the teacher but they are not worried at all.

Some are lazy to write home work or exercises in class . Some  are even lazy to submit their  books for marking. They are lazy to the extent of not underlining sub headings as they are writing notes. They always buy a new exercise book everytime an exercise is written. When a homework is given, they copy from other students early in the morning before submission of books. They copy word to word and don’t have time to edit the information. They are just lazy .

They can’t open their note books on their own. Where a teacher ended it’s also where they end. They don’t study or read ahead. Laziness is their favourite song everyday.

They are lazy to the extent of bunking the lessons everyday. They lie and always defend their actions. Check their handwriting, they don’t care what they write and in some cases asks colleagues to write for them. They know that towards the end of the term they will steal  note books from those who write notes. In their bags , they are lazy to bring all the books. They only carry few books and are not worried about what happens in class. They are always giving an excuse of forgetting. The art of Laziness.

They are lazy to ask or raise their hands in class . They don’t participate during the lesson. In some cases they sleep during the lesson. Who cares, as long as they came to school. They are not worried about passing or  doing well in class, but are worried about school gossip, relationships and mischief.

They can’t even wash their uniforms or stockings . They are lazy. Cooking is a challenge, they are always tired. Washing plates after supper, or sweeping their rooms is always a challenge. Their bodies are always exhausted. They want everything done for them. Utter Lazinesses.

During weekends or on holiday , they wake up at 10am. They justify their actions. Their hands cannot even make a bed. They are too smart.

Once again laziness leads to poverty but hard work makes you rich.
