Prosper Ndlovu in WINDHOEK, Namibia
AS Zimbabwe and Namibia seek to leverage each other in expanding production and trade ties, Mr Peter Shivute, Executive for Market Access and Export Promotion at he Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) has said his country is learning more from Zimbabwe’s deliberate stance on value addition and empowerment.

He said this (watch) at the ongoing Zimbabwe trade mission business forum in Windhoek, where he also addressed Namibia’s trade and investment environment, including market access, regulatory requirements and doing business in the country.
While commending Zimbabwe, his presentation placed commercial opportunities in their practical context, helping participating companies consider the conditions and processes relevant to operating in the Namibian market
“Overall, trade remained strongly export-led in 2025, with Namibia exporting far
more to Zimbabwe than Zimbabwe exported to Namibia. Namibia’s 2025 total exports to Zimbabwe
were highly concentrated in frozen fish, petroleum oils and semiconductor,” he said.
“Namibia’s top imports from Zimbabwe in 2025 were concentrated in mineral substances, malt and other minerals. We need to leverage each other. That’s where it is: petroleum products, frozen fish, semiconductor devices,” he noted.
