Zanu PF legislator for Mazowe Central, Cde Dr Maxmore Njanji has embarked on a project to ensure that schools in his area are electrified to facilitate the implementation of the Education 5.0 model in rural areas.
The legislator recently facilitated the reconnection of electricity at Mukodzongi Primary School in Ward 5 where a transformer was stolen three years ago.
A few weeks ago, the legislator also facilitated the re-connection of power at Shutu Primary School in Ward 7.
“We are taking heed of President Mnangagwa’s call that ‘nyika inovakwa nevene vayo’, hence as the legislator I am working with all pillars of our community to uplift our schools and create a conducive environment for the smooth implementation of Education 5.0,” said Cde Njanji.
“I am working with the ward councillors, the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) and other good Samaritans to achieve this goal,” he said.
“Mukodzongi Primary School was reconnected a few weeks ago after three years, we will now lobby for computers from the relevant ministries so that our children do not remain marginalised,” said Ward 5 Councillor, Cde Edmore Mandaza.
Power challenges have seen some schools failing to conduct computer studies, which are a key enabler of the Education 5.0 model.
