LONDON. — Leicester’s mayor is planning to name the city’s streets after the club’s English Premiership soccer title-chasing stars.
Sir Peter Soulsby says he will honour the players and manager Claudio Ranieri in fantastic fashion should they clinch the English Premier League title this season.
Leicester has already honoured professional sportsmen such as former England star Gary Lineker and they are ready to rebrand streets with the names “Vardy Vale” and “Ranieri Road”.
More than 10 000 gathered in Town Hall Square in 2014 when the Foxes were promoted to the top flight, and Soulsby says there is going to be a “much bigger event” this time.
“Town Hall Square will not be big enough this time,” he said. — Sky Sports.
