Leitao hails Cheetahs

Sports Reporter
CHEETAHS captain Jacques Leitao has hailed their performance in the Confederation of the African Rugby Cup which ended on Sunday at Prince Edward where they clinched the third-place play-off.

The Cheetahs also qualified for the Hong Kong Sevens Series in March next year.

“I thought we achieved what we set out to do and that was qualify for Hong Kong. In doing that we also qualified for the first stage of the Olympics process,” said Leitao.

“We played good competition in Kenya and the South Africa Academy. “We were unfortunate not to get a win against Kenya on the first day but playing against good competition only improves us as a team and helps the young players get a feel for the game.”
