LET’S COMPLEMENT GOVT EFFORTS IN PROVIDING QUALITY HEALTHCARE, SAYS AVENUES CLINIC GM

Latwell Nyangu

HEALTH institutions have been urged to complement Government efforts in providing quality healthcare in this country.

The call was made by Sibusisiwe Ndhlovu, the general manager of The Avenues Clinic, during the inauguration of a newly-refurbished ward that will accommodate over 48 patients.

Ndhlovu said that the clinic has reached the fourth stage of its renovation process.

“We appreciate our stakeholders who have supported us in our mission to provide top-quality care for our citizens.

“We continue to play our part in complementing the government’s efforts in healthcare.

“We also urge other health stakeholders to support the authorities in ensuring quality health services.

“Health is not an easy business, but with patience, care, and fortitude, we will get there.

“We believe that The Avenues Clinic is well-positioned to fulfil our duty,” she said.

Ndhlovu emphasised the importance of offering Zimbabweans choices in healthcare.

“We must ensure that citizens have options regarding where to seek care.

“We have already completed our surgical ward, which primarily caters for procedures and operations.

“This is known as Ward South, and we have also developed Ward North, our medical ward. Today, we are unveiling the obstetrics and gynecology ward, which serves new mothers and addresses issues related to female health.

“To us, this is a journey, and we are making significant progress. We have completed two-thirds of the wards in this hospital, with only the third floor and our operating theatres remaining.”

She added:

“Within these wards, four of them are private, we are ensuring that patients who desire privacy can have it.”

The Principal Nursing Officer of The Avenues Clinic Florence Ogwal emphasised the importance of quality healthcare. “As a healthcare institution, we are committed to ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care.”
