IT is very sad that cases of murder are on the increase in all parts of our beautiful country and something has to be done immediately before the situation gets out of hand. It is also disappointing to see that our courts are not playing their part by giving deterrent sentences and this has worsened the situation since these murderers have continued to kill others knowing fully that there are lawyers who will represent them in the court of law.
There is no single week which can pass without hearing shocking stories about people who kill others by either stabbing using sharp objects such as knives, screw drivers, machetes, picks and shovels for no meaningful reasons.
Some men have been appearing in different courts for murdering their ex-girlfriends after being dumped by these ladies.
I was really shocked recently when a kombi conductor decided to end his passenger’s life while fighting over bus fare.
In the past it was common to hear about these cases of murder which have now reached shocking levels.
People should value life, we must be always thankful to God for the life He has given us and all murderers must know that it is not good in the eyes of the Lord to kill your neighbours.
The Bible encourages us to love our neighbours and this includes our enemies.
Last year a man killed his wife of 20 years accusing her of giving his rabbit meat to the visitors who are also the family relatives.
I am appealing to our magistrates and judges to pass very long sentences with hard labour. We know it very well that lawyers are in business but we feel it’s unfair to defend someone who would have caused the death of fellow neighbours.
