Letters to the Editor: My biggest plea to the President

The move by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration to launch a paperless Cabinet system should be applauded.

We really needed this in our country as modern countries are already familiar with such technologically enabled systems.

What is now left is for all Government departments to go paperless.

Another significant move would be for all Government departments to be visible on social media, updating the nation on what is happening in their departments.

It would also be appreciated if these departments get their accounts verified so that the information they share with us is unquestionably authentic, particularly with the rise of fake accounts.

I would also want to urge Government to similarly come up with solutions that speed up business registration and the processing of passports, visas and so forth.

However, it might also be helpful for Government to make data costs affordable for many.

This is my biggest plea to His Excellency.

 Prof.
