Letters to the Editor: Two important issues that need attention

Realising that of late there has been bad mouthing about our economic situation especially on the finances, it would be helpful if the Government or the minister of finance give careful directional position concerning this matter. Information on things like debt clearance with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other financial institutions need to be constantly given to the public.

The public needs to know about the general financial position, whether treasury is still making a surplus or not. 

The economic situation we are in needs some occasional updates so that we are all aware of what is happening.

There is also the HIV/Aids pandemic. Seeing that no one writes any more about this disease, the public wants to know if the country is making any headway in reducing infections and HIV related deaths.
