Level 4 lockdown extended by two weeks

    GOVERNMENT has extended the current Level Four lockdown by another two weeks, meaning that the prevailing restrictions will exist until February 15.

    Announcing the measures in an address this afternoon, Acting President Dr Constantino Chiwenga said the decision had been taken because of the likelihood of new strains and Covid-19 variants that could be more severe.

    Acting President Chiwenga, who is also Minister of Health and Child Care, said Government will soon be bringing in vaccines against Covid-19 with the roll-out plan currently being finalised.

    “It is in light of this that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe . . . has decided to extend the Level Four national lockdown by another two weeks to February 15 2021.”
