Life skills help to curb gender-based violence, Chinomona

Precious Manomano Herald Reporter

Women in various provinces are set to improve their standard of living and contribute to the national economy after being taught life skills.

The entrepreneurship exercise led by Zanu PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona has led to the women becoming producers of various products such as detergents, perfumes and lotions.

In an interview, Cde Mabel Chinomona said the empowerment programmes are an essential tool that helps to minimise gender-based violence as well as reduce poverty amongst women.

“Violence usually occurs when women are dependent on their spouses so we are empowering women through life skills so that they can produce various products and become financially independent. We want women who influence others to become self-reliant and become business-minded people,” she said.

Cde Chinomona also said the life skills programme is targeted to benefit all women from all provinces.
