Lion Lager Beer Festival makes debut in Bulawayo

With a host of live performing artistes, it was certainly a night of fireworks as the Lion Lager Beer Festival made its debut in the city of Kings and Queens. The vibe was right and the crowd was certainly out for no other business besides party business.

The main attraction of the night Cocoa Tea real name Calvin George Scott sent the crowd into a frenzy as he churned out world famous tunes such as “Hurry up and come”, “Rikers Island” and Young lover, among others.
He made a spontaneous connection with the ecstatic crowd when he belted out a couple of renditions of the late legendary Bob Marley’s pieces, chanting unity, during the show.

Bobo Ashanti Fantan Mojah managed with ease to please the crowd in its thousands with his soothed mellow voice as he presented several of his master-pieces. His consciousness lyrics, which advocate virtues of humility and respect made the fans, go wild as he performed the “Most high Jah deliver me” and his top chatting tune on the drop-leaf riddim.
The event also witnessed a fierce competition of Dee-Jays which saw five top Dee-Jays from Bulawayo battle it out on the decks for the Lion Lager Top Bulawayo Dee-Jay prize.

It was, however, veteran Dee-Jay ‘KK’ Kim Rodgers who emerged victorious.
At the event dominated by reggae artistes, Afro-Jazz crooner Jeys Marabini did what he is well known for when gave a polished performance. The Ninja President Winky D made a killer appearance dressed in a white ninja suite giving the Bulawayo crowd a taste of his music. Also off note amongst the line up of performing stars was Empress Eyahra who was the only female act of the entire night.

The fine looking Empress left the crowd asking for more after performing her own version of “Billboard chatting hit Road to Zion” by Damien Marley and Nas. Bulawayo revellers were all in praise of Delta Beverages as they expressed delight on the event.
