Emerging 3-step singer Liora Music says performing at the inaugural Imbawula Experience in Bulawayo this past weekend was a memorable milestone in her growing music career.

The fast-rising artiste was among a diverse line-up that took to the stage at the maiden edition of the creative showcase, an event founded by artiste manager and promoter Michelle Banda, popularly known as Star Michy, in partnership with musician Noluntu J.

Although she admitted to feeling nervous before her set, Liora Music said the audience’s warm reception quickly put her at ease.
“It was incredible! I was nervous, but the energy from the audience carried me through,” she said.

Inspired by the traditional imbawula, a brazier around which families and communities gather for warmth, conversation and storytelling during winter, the event brought together music, fashion, food and artistic expression in a celebration of Bulawayo’s creative spirit. The concept resonated with patrons and creatives alike, with the inaugural edition attracting encouraging support from the city’s arts community.

Liora Music shared the stage with Noluntu J, MC Fresh, KBrizzy, Da_Kudu, Indigo Saint, Crazy Dee and Feel G.

The event also drew notable arts stakeholders, including British Council arts projects co-ordinator Ronald Moyo and Kay Media Africa co-founder Keith Kuhudzai, as well as established creatives such as Bhekiwe Dube and Stones Moyo.

For Liora Music, the performance provided another opportunity to connect with audiences and showcase her growth as an artiste. She has steadily built a reputation as one of the country’s promising voices in the emerging 3-step genre, gaining wider recognition through her collaboration with South African producer Blaq Major on Othandweni Kuyaphileka. She later released her debut single, Ngathemba Wena, which further introduced her artistry to listeners.

Following her successful appearance at the Imbawula Experience, the singer is now focused on her next release, Kwenza Kwakho, which is expected soon. The single will pave the way for her debut EP, a project set to showcase the full range of her musical talent.
