WHOLESALE Centre Liquor Hub, a retail enterprise owned by Bulawayo business tycoon, Raj Modi, will be celebrating its first anniversary tomorrow.
The successful enterprise opened its doors to the public on February 14 last year.
Modi is the Liquor Hub Director while the trio of Stanford Mazura, Admire Ndlovu and Sidumiso Ncube are responsible for the day to day running of the ever busy beverage outlet.
Liquor Hub has a staff complement of more than 100 workers and keeps growing each day as contract workers are also engaged to improve service delivery.
When Wholesale Centre Liquor Hub opened last year, management set a target to have employed about 500 workers by 2018.
Mazura, who is the purchasing manager, expressed gratitude to their customers in Bulawayo and surrounding areas for their continued support of the beverages outlet.
He said the Liquor Hub has enjoyed rapid growth within just a year of operating.
“We chose to open our doors to our valued customers during the month of love when people will be celebrating. As a business entity, we’re happy because it has paid back so well with our sales going up, meeting targets and beyond. We managed to hit targets in all the quarters of our year and we’re hopeful of sowing the same seeds of success in 2016,” said Mazura.
He said despite the economic challenges, the Liquor Hub remained positive on maintaining continued growth.
“For our business to grow and continue thriving we have always tried to remain focused and positive.
There are a lot of challenges we face but we remain confident that things will improve and allow business to expand,” said Mazura.
The giant beverage outlet is a loyal customer of local liquor producers which include Delta Beverages and African Distillers (Afdis) Limited.
Mazura said they were expanding their target market to include food stuffs as part of a strategy of drawing more customers.
“Our goods are sold at wholesale prices and we have started to open room for other food stuff and commodities to our customers. We want to be the best one stop shop in the region supplying all goods on demand.
“We’re expecting to record higher sales this year, mindful of the economic challenges but we would want to stay on top of the game to meet demand and the challenge of competition,” he said.
To wrap up 2015 for its customers, the Liquor Hub held a Christmas draw where some luck loyal customers got prizes as a reward for showing confidence in the liquor supplier.
