LIVE: All set for Zanu-PF final Nkulumane rally ahead of Saturday’s by-elections

SCORES of Zanu-PF supporters have gathered at Nketa 6 Grounds on Wednesday for the party’s final campaign rally ahead of Saturday’s Nkulumane Constituency by-election.

The event, meant to solidify support for candidate Cde Freedom Murechu, is expected to be graced by Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha as the guest of honour.

The by-election was necessitated by the death of the incumbent legislator, Mr Desire Moyo, in October this year.

Zanu-PF goes all out to win Nkulumane constituency by-election

The ruling party has unleashed a massive political campaign to wrestle the seat from the opposition, characterised by high-stakes development pledges.

Since the campaign’s official launch at Amaveni Primary School earlier this month, the party has moved to address perennial local grievances.

These initiatives include the drilling of 49 boreholes to mitigate critical water shortages, an immediate overhaul of sewer infrastructure, the donation of modern ICT equipment to local schools, and the replacement of non-functional electricity transformers.

As the campaign reaches its crescendo on Wednesday, the Zanu-PF leadership has expressed immense confidence in Cde Murechu’s prospects.

With the voter population standing at 22 883, the party is banking on its recent track record of service delivery and infrastructure projects to secure a victory in a constituency that has historically been an opposition stronghold
