Police mobilise to avert armed robbery at city club
BULAWAYO police inclusive of CID Homicide and VIP protection and close combat expert, Ishmael Jasset and his heavily armed officers have arrived at Crystal lounge where an armed robbery is currently taking place.
Details emerging are that there are three armed robber in the building.
In an interview, club owner, Mr Phathisani Nkomo revealed that one of his workers who had managed to hide in the toilet had made the distress call.
According to Mr Nkomo, when the armed robbers got inside, they locked the doors and confiscated employees’ cellphones.
Police are now planning to break the doors while shooting at the air with the hope that the robbers will panic. Ambulances are being summoned.
Police breach city club as they try to apprehend armed robbers
THE police have breached Crystal Lounge in Bulawayo’s Central Business District where armed robbers are currently holed armed.
The suspected armed robbers locked the club and took workers hostage before armed police descended on the scene.
Six employees who were being kept hostage have since been rescued, but the robbers remain inside.
Police have since barricaded part of Robert Mugabe Way and the 10 Avenue stretch.
Police rescue six workers, as standoff with armed robbers continues
BULAWAYO police successfully rescued six workers from Crystal Lounge who had been taken hostage by armed robbers at the club on Sunday morning.
The armed robbers had locked the workers inside the club.
One of the workers, who was in the toilet when the armed robbers came in, managed to call the club owner, Phathisani Nkomo, who in turn alerted the police.
The armed robbers are still inside the building.
Search for Crystal Lounge armed robbers continues
A POLICE tactical team has made its way onto the roof of Crystal Lounge as they suspect the armed robbers who held workers hostage could be hiding there.
The armed robbers descended on the club on Sunday morning and held six workers hostage.
The workers have since been rescued by the police.
